!WARNING....MOVIE SPOILER! Do not read the following blog if you haven't, and plan on seeing "The Polar Express".
Maddie is obsessed with trains, she loves everything about them. I thought it would be fun to watch the movie "The Polar Express" today with her. She actually enjoyed it, and paid attention most of the time. Throughout the movie she kept saying "I wanna see Santa!" Brandon and I had to assure her that Santa would show up, she just had to be patient. Finally the scene where the children get to see Santa had arrived. In the movie, the main character is frantically trying to see Santa, but he can't because the elves are standing on top of each other to see Santa themselves. I thought that was weird because wouldn't you think that Santa's Elves get to see Santa all year long? Anywhoo....Maddie was getting as impatient as the young boy! She was standing 2 feet from the T.V. rocking back and forth and shrieking "I wanna see Santa! I wanna see Santa!" then the crocodile tears started coming! I couldn't believe how much my little girl wanted to see Santa. It was amazing. Finally he showed up and she calmed down. She was much happier. Then she turned to me and said "I want presents." Kids.

Merry Christmas to Everyone
Christmas was wonderful this year, and already it is almost over. We had a great time up in Willard enjoying a deluxe breakfast, and spending time with the family. The cousins had a great time playing and running around. Maddie was excited to see that the cookies she left Santa were eaten, and a "Thank You" letter was left in its place. However, she did spend most of the morning saying, "I want to see Santa!". I think her favorite gift was her "Princess dress up shoes". Once the wrapping paper was off her arms were flailing around and she was letting out a high pitch squeal of excitement. It was priceless. Children make Holidays twice as fun.

Santa Claus is Comin'....
It's Christmas Eve, Maddie's taking a nap, and it's snowing outside. I'm so excited for Christmas, and Maddie can't wait for Santa to come to our house. She's been saying "Santa is coming to house!" all day long. Check out Maddie's first Santa Letter. I dictated, and then she added her own personal touches. I hope everyone gets their Christmas wishes this year. I love you all. Merry Christmas.

It's a Christmas Miracle!!!
I thought it would be fun to paint Maddie's fingernails tonight. She sat still enough for me to get both hands finished, that's a miracle in itself. However, as I was painting her nails I placed the open bottle of RED nail polish on our beige carpet. Once I finished the nails I look down at the bottle, which is laying on it's side. To my horror red nail polish is sliding out onto the carpet! Ahhhh what to do! Common sense said to grab some nail polish remover and try to blot it up. So much for common sense because all that did was make the dime size stain grow to the size of a quarter. Panic set in and I thought that maybe we could just push the couch over to cover it, nobody would know right? Then I went to my tried and true problem solver...Google. After reading up on some recommendations I took the advice of another girl that had a similar predicament. Long story short the solution to my stained carpet was Spot Shot! The stuff works wonders. The red nail polish stain is completely gone. I'm still shocked. I truly thought I would be trying to cut out the carpet or just move the couch. Oh...and Maddie's nails look fab. We'll be doing nail time in the kitchen from now on. :)

Winter is Here!
We got quite the snowstorm last night and today. Maddie finally got a chance to go and play in the snow. I taught her how to eat snow, she loves that, and if she would just keep her gloves on for 2 minutes maybe we could make a snowman or something. Either way, I love how a blanket of snow makes everything appear. I just hate driving in the stuff. Looks like we may have a White Christmas after all. :)

Yummy Lemons...
Today I took Maddie to her 2 year checkup and asked for some "potty training" advice from her pediatrician. He recommended giving her a treat, such as one Skittle or M & M, for each time she goes to the bathroom on her own. Well, I quickly raced to Target and purchased some Christmas M & M's (gotta keep with that Christmas Spirit) to entice my little munchkin to go potty like a big girl. I explained to Maddie what the M & M's were for and gave her a "sample" so she would know how yummy they were. Well, a few hours pass, and no potty. Then she comes up to me and says "I want lemons." Lemons? Huh...then I said, "Do you mean M & M's?" and she quickly chirps "Yep" with a big smile on her face and her tiny palm outstretched. Kids...gotta love 'em.
Christmas Village
We recently went to the Christmas Village in Downtown Ogden the other day. It was freezing, but that didn't keep Maddie from running to each house to peek inside the windows. I had never been there before, and it was truly magical. I would highly recommend it to anyone with young children, or those who need a Christmas Spirit boost!
Merry Christmas

New to Blogging
Well, I thought I'd try this blog thing out. Maddie is taking a nap, so I thought I'd start setting this thing up. I'm still recovering from yesterday's marathon. I'm still in shock that I actually ran 26.3 miles in one sitting, and walked away with a smile on my face! Thank you to those who came and supported me, you know I love you all to death!
