Sharon Presby

IT WAS BEAUTIFUL TODAY! I'm talking 72 degrees, light overcast, and sun that would casually peak through the clouds. I took the kiddos to Allie's future Pre-K Sharon Presbyterian. The playground there was amazing! The kids had a blast. The church bells even tell the time, which gave me the chance to teach her how to tell time through the chimes of the bells. It was a good day.

Christmas Breakfast at Church

Yesterday was the "Christmas Breakfast" at church. The kids ate pancakes to their hearts content, then ran around like banshees for about an hour. Just as things were wrapping up Santa came in with a notebook and candy canes for the kiddos. Allie was so excited to see Santa, but is still hesitant to hop up on his lap. Maddie means business, and is all about making sure she lets him know what she expects this year. Drew just wanted a candy cane.

Happy 8th Birthday Maddie Moo!

Today Maddie turned 8. I can't believe she's already 8 years old. 8 is a major milestone for this little lady. She can now get baptized, ride shotgun, and she finally got an American Girl Doll. Big deal in this household. I present to you, "Alexandra Rosalie Gray Zito" or "Alex" for short. Maddie got so many great gifts from friends and family. Instead of a birthday party we decided that she could invite one friend to a "fancy" dinner. We ate at Portofino's and Maddy Holley was the guest of choice. The girls had a blast, and Maddie told me it was the best birthday EVER! She loved being able to just chat/play with her friend all night, instead of having a noisy birthday party where you can't really talk to anyone. I can totally relate. We love you Maddie Moo.

Fruit Bats

Maddie just completed her first big project of the year. It was a unit on bats, all different kinds of bats. The girl knows more about bats than I ever cared for, and she's is constantly sharing her knowledge. She's such a brainiac! I love love LOVE that about her. Today the students were able to display their projects. Maddie had selected the fruit bat for her project. Only 3 kids in her class (including herself) chose that type, I bet you can guess what the "popular" choice was, yes everyone wanted a vampire bat. But my Maddie picked the bat that loves and eats only nectar and fruit. Love that girl.

JC Trip

We headed to JC this past week-end for Maddie's friend Samuel's Baptism. The best part about this visit is that Brigitte came down too, with her 3 kiddos. Belinda, Brandy, Brigitte, and I haven't been together for over 3 years! Since then our fold has more than doubled, and the chaos is nonstop. I loved every minute of it.

Hall Family Farm Take Two

Today was grey, gloomy, and slightly rainy. Drew took a late nap and I knew that I had to find something to keep him busy until bed time. We headed to the library, but that just wouldn't contain him. So....I just started driving south, and we ended up at Hall Family Farms again. We spent a good couple of hours there, the kids had a blast, and with the bluegrass playing in the background it made it feel like we were back in Tennessee.
