Poor Allie has been pretty yucky the past few nights. She's cranky, feverish and inconsolable. So sad, I can't wait for her to get better. But, this gives me more of an excuse to stay indoors and hang out. We got dumped on the past few days. This is crazy, because we usually do not get snow like this. Big fluffy flakes, lots of powder to play in. Maddie loves it for about 5 minutes then races back inside for a bubble bath and some hot chocolate.

We got a few inches of the white stuff and JC shut down. No school for Maddie made a VERY long day for us girls. This is what a "Snow Day" in JC looks like. No school, no problem.

You Lookin' At Me?

"Why are they looking at me?" This was the question of the day as we strolled through Walmart this afternoon. Yep, she's wearing her "Cupid the Reindeer" getup, has been since she got out of school, and wore it 'til bedtime tonight. She does make an awfully cute reindeer.

Snow Day

This morning we had some light flurries just dancing through the air as Brandon took Maddie to Pre-K. I had just got Allie down for her morning nap and was elbow deep in cleaning the house when Brandon and Maddie showed up, 15 minutes later from school. Turns out there was a 2 hour delay for school today that nobody told me about. Ok, great. This turn of events sorta threw a wrench into my whole "day of deep cleaning" mode. Long story short Maddie ended up staying home ALL day because when it was time to take her back to school my car battery was dead. The click click click sound as I turned the car-key was not what I wanted to hear after I had just done the carseat battle with Allie, in the freezing cold. As soon as I told Maddie that she wasn't going to school today because the car wouldn't start she went into full on crying hysterical uncontrollable freak out. Seriously! It was crazy. She was pretty upset for about 30 minutes. This isn't like her and it made me realize that 1. She LOVES school and will have to finish out her school year here no matter what and 2. Wow, she really can throw a class A fit when she wants to. So, after things had calmed down the girls and I just chilled at home, watched the snowfall from the comfort of the couch and enjoyed Christmas flicks. I also whipped up a batch of peanut butter cookies. Delish.

Christmas is in the air....

Today is my birthday and what I like most about this day is that it means we are now only 20 days away from Christmas! Our house is decorated, Christmas music fills the air and I'm baking baking baking all the time. I love this time of year, and getting a jumpstart on presents isn't a bad way to begin the holiday season.

She's 5 Already?

Today my little girl turned 5. I can't believe she's already 5. This past week has been one birthday celebration after another. We had a party for her last Saturday and a "mini-celebration" today. I love my little Maddie Moo.

Last night we had some Family Pics taken downtown. The weather was nice for about 20 minutes, then it turned freezing, and rainy so we had to cut it short. I love all these shots and can't believe how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family.

I have so often thought about doing this exact same thing. Going back to the house that I grew up in, walking around, and just remembering. I am missing Utah right now, but what I miss most is that place I called home growing up. The neighborhood, the familiarity and most of all the feeling of comfort and safety I get just being in Sandy. I want to go back.

Happy Halloween

Here are some pictures taken over the past few days. Halloween is more like a week-long celebration versus one day of fun. Maddie WAS Supergirl, a few weeks back when Brandy took her pics, but decided against that idea when it came down to the nitty gritty. Instead, she decided to be Snow White for her school Halloween Parade and a kitty for trick or treating. She did throw on the Supergirl costume for the JC Library Parade. I love how Maddie threw together cute costumes that we already had AFTER I had bought the one costume she couldn't live without. Good times. Glad it's over.
