First Day of 2nd Grade

Today is the first day of 2nd Grade for Miss Maddie Moo! She was so excited for today, she was dressed and ready to go by 5:45am. I love my little bookworm.

Trials

The last few days have been an uphill battle, but I am still grateful for everyone and everything I have been blessed with. Thank you @nycrunningmama for posting this the other day on Instagram, it really resonates with me.

Another JC Visit...

My good friend Belinda is moving from Johnson City to Gainesville, FL next week. I'm excited for her new chapter, but sad that she is leaving JC. We went up to spend a few days with her and her family before she heads South. I'm realizing that JC has morphed into a second home, and I always look forward to my visits. Me and the kiddos have made lifelong friends and for that I am eternally grateful for our brief time living in JC.

Blackberry Picking at Summerberry Farms

This morning we headed up to Concord and handpicked some blackberries. One of my friends from church invited us and I thought it sounded like fun. The "farm" is one-acre of blackberry bushes. It was pretty cool to see, and perfect for the kiddos. Both Allie and Maddie could pick at the same time. Drew wanted nothing to do with it, so I one-hand picked and held Junior to keep him happy. It took about 30 minutes for us to fill our crate, and $20 later we were on our way. I've already made blackberry cobbler, but now what to do with the remaining 6 quarts????

First Haircut

I finally did it! I've never given Allie a proper haircut until today. Yes, I'd snip here or there, try to clean it up every now and then, but the time had come. She was starting to get a new layer of growth at the nape of her neck, and her front growth has now made it to her chin. Poor pup looked a little haggard at times. So, I did it, I quickly pulled out the craft scissors and snip snip. All better. Now I think everything will grow together and blend out beautifully.
